I actually checked my twitter account today because the amature porn spam in my email notifications was grossing me out. I went there to block these ... women ... from adding me.

I am subscribed to ... five or six random people because I don't get twitter. One of the people I'm subscribed to is Jenny Owen Young. She's a very funny Singer Songwriter. What the f*ck was I thinking is such a sad but funny song about unrequited love. Anyway. She's posting random videos and watching them I discovered something really funny called Literal Video. Ha!

Last night I conquered my social awkwardness and went to bid JR and CL farewell. 'Twas good. I saw some old friends (WE) and shook hands and chatted with a bunch of strangers. I sort of insulted the host by saying he looked a lot like a scruffy angsty minister I met a year ago at First Baptist... and it turned out that he looked a lot like that guy because he was that guy. *open mouth insert foot* I think he was just feeling the sermon he preached that (long ago) day. It was convicting rather than fluffy. He and his wife were hosting the party and they were both very gracious and lovely hosts who like surfing A LOT! There was a huge surf board behind their sofa. It may have been normal sized... I wouldn't know. I had a lovely time.

As I was leaving I chatted with two young (musical) men outside. One had been gaurding a beautiful mandolin for part of the evening and I teased him about it a little. The other guy told me about this instrument that is L shaped and makes UFO sounds. Get this... you don't touch it! 0_0! It plays because the electromagnetic waves bounce off YOUR electromagnetic waves and make music! That blew my mind! When I got home (it was 1am) but I HAD to google it!

It's called a THEREMIN!

Terminator, Dollhouse and I love pianos.

I watched "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and Joss Whedon's new show "Dollhouse" tonight.

Tonight's episode of Terminator was called "The Good Wound."

There are two kinds of Terminator episodes which get me REALLY excited. The first kind is when they tell a story in the past and present at the same time. "Alpine Fields" is a great example of this. Meeting the characters in the present and not knowing which one the Terminator is after, then going to the future to see how the present actions pan out. It happens a lot on this show but there are episodes in which it works really well and that's one of them.

The second kind is when the plot pays homage to one of the Terminator films. "Goodbye to All That" is a wonderful episode which had me geeking out about the original Terminator film and even deleted scenes from that film.

So this episode, "The Good Wound" is the second type of awesome Terminator episode. There were moments that were too emo and moments that were unintentionally funny but for the most part it was awesome!

Kyle Reese appeared! It was very Terminator 2. Sarah was delirious from her wound and Kyle arrived to give her pep talks and say lines from the original Terminator film. It was great. I wasn't digging the facial hair but still... great.

There were some great Terminator 2 esque scenes with Catherine Weaver. They even played the T-1000 sound effect that I love.

The show has gotten to the place where the ongoing side plots are really interesting. The Ellison/Weaver and Jesse/Riley plots left me wanting more. Can't wait for next week. :D

Dollhouse is pretty much incomprehensible - which is what I expected. The only thing I knew about that show going in is that Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku had a conversation about being an actress in hollywood. So it was mildly interesting to look at the show and see themes from the little that I know of that conversation.

I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful people and sets. Everyone was so URGENT and SERIOUS. That was fun. Amy Acker was a standout. I enjoyed Harry Lennox. He was one of the reasons I wanted to watch. Tahmoh Penikett was nice to look at. I loved him as "Wes" on an episode of Smallville and as "Helo" on Battlestar Galactica.

As far as the premise goes... what I could understand of it... I went back and forth on being interested. By the end, the plot tugged at my heartstrings and I was hooked until the end. It's a lot to take in and very risky. I love that about Joss Whedon; he really takes risks. I'll be back next week. I'm not sold, but it wasn't bad.

On a random note...

Harmless pop songs/nursery rhymes + Gifted pianist/composers = magic.
