Clois Apocalypse Season 7 Episode 18

One of my very favorite Clois moments. The entire scene is wonderful.

Amazing scene. I love the way you can start to see Lois struggling to figure out how to let down her walls around Clark. You see Clark notice the how awkward Lois feels opening up and letting her guard down...and then she covers it with the punch. And he NOTICES that she covers it. And you can see him start to think..."Huh....there is more going on there."

There is something I have always wondered about the shoulder punch Lois gives him in this episode and that is - if Clark really noticing it (and why she was doing it) was in the script, or if it came out of Tom Welling's direction.

Booster had me wondering even more because, as a directing choice, Tom had the camera go into a wide shot of Lois punching him on the shoulder at the top of the episode (and then cutting to a close-up of Clark's face smiling right afterwards). It was a directing choice of his to clearly emphasis Lois' doing this little quirk in two episodes he's directed now.

I would really love to ask Tom if he knew that Clark would one day stop Lois from punching Clark like that - as he finally did in Rabid.

Nice catch regarding the punch in Booster. And great observation about Tom's directing choices when it comes to the punch.

It would be fun to find out whether Erica's original improv took hold enough that the writers latched on to it, or if every time it's organic and improvisational. It always feels very natural and spontaneous.

YES. This was definitely one of those... Hmm... moments for Clark regarding Lois. He has a few of those and they are always so interesting and ... exciting!

I think it's also Lois revealing how truly caring she is. In the past she's been really ... not dismissive regarding Lana but just... he cannot have long brooding sessions with Lois (I love that!). And here she surprises him by how much she wants to be there for him. This definitely builds on their relationship after Siren. And I guess... maybe foreshadows the hug in Arctic.
