Slacking...

Instead of writing two plays for children ages 7 thru 9 I am listening to American Doll Posse by Tori Amos. I've been spending a little more time at my favorite Tori Amos websites and I read that Tori considers herself to be releasing double albums. I divided American Doll Posse into two and created a single album for the B-sides. <3 I feel so self satisfied. The plays are due tomorrow.

One is about the Abracadabra show. Two intergallactic criminals kidnap a couple of star guests. Then an immortal and a magical green pug dog travel across space to find the missing guests. They meet three fans of the Abracadabra show who help guide them through the scary woods and find the missing guests. Turns out... all this kidnapping made ratings sky rocket and the criminals are invited to be a permanent part of the show.

The other show... is interesting. During our brainstorm for the show one little boy said he wanted to be the Frog Princess. I guess he's excited about the upcoming Disney movie. I asked him if he was sure and he said yes and that he really wanted to wear a wig. So I let him. I hope his parents will be ok with it. When it came time to iron out the plot and cure the frog princess... then I was a little less easy going. Rather than have him transform back into a princess... I had him start the show out as a frog who is turned into a frog princess and then back into a frog. He seemed... ambivalent about whether he turned into a princess or a frog... as long as he got to play the frog princess. So... I dunno. *sigh*

Anyway the plot is... Hortus (cross between Tortoise and Horse) is sick of Frog and betrays him to the good witch. The witch uses her fave spell on him which turns him into a Frog Princess. Everyone assumes he was originally a princess. The wizards try and turn him back but they can't. Wrong spell. He's not a princess... he's a frog. So... many journeys and tricks later... there's a dance off. The evil witch, hortus, imp and skeleton ghost VS. the frog princess, wizards, hypogriff, goat man, griffin, goblin and mad magician (there are lots of good characters). The good side wins... realize the frog princess was originally a frog and... he is transformed back into his froggy self. Why did the Hortus hate Frog so much? Frog always wanted to play leap frog. That's my fave part. LOL! That and the Goblin named Wart living in a trash can.
